Customize Belmont’s fire pit “TABI” so you can cook over a campfire.
The distance between the genuine net and the flame is very close.
“TABI” has a short distance from the bottom plate to the genuine net.
The distance from the bottom to the net is approximately 9.5 cm.
This distance is just right for cooking with charcoal, but when you are burning wood and the flames are rising, the distance to the flames is too close and the heat is strong, causing the food on the grill to burn.
To improve this, we will use the Grilling grid with stand from “DAISO”, his most popular 100 yen shop in Japan.
Adjust and attach this grill to fit the bonfire stand. I will also show you how to make the distance between the bonfire stand and the net greater than it is now.
1. Change the stand installation position
First, change the position where the net and stand are attached.
The stands are attached to the second square from the edge of the net, so move them both to the third square.
The mounting part of the stand can be opened with a tool, so it can be easily removed.
2. Open the foot installation part outward
Next, open the installation part of the stand outward. Bend the part of the stand parallel to the net from the same position as the center of the net.
The key is to make sure that the center of the net and the folded part line up perfectly.
At this time, bend the stand so that the direction in which you bent it is parallel to the net. If the folding direction and the net are parallel, it will be stable when installed on a bonfire stand.
3. Set it on the bonfire stand
Set the net on the bonfire stand.
By changing the mounting position of the net and stand, the net stand itself will force itself to return to the outside and fit into the fire pit.
The net stand folded outward acts as a stopper, so the net rarely comes off.
If you look at it from the side, you can see that the distance from the bottom plate to the net is longer than the genuine net.
The distance from the bottom to the grill is approximately 14.5 cm. 5 cm higher than the original net.
It can also be used in conjunction with the genuine net.
Check out the video to see the stability of the customized net.
Verify by actually making a bonfire
We lit a bonfire using a customized bonfire stand. Please check the distance from the firewood and flames from the photo.
Even if you have a bonfire, the height of the net is just right as long as the flame is stable.
The real pleasure of camping is to be creative
Camping can be said to be an activity where you enjoy the inconvenience.
How can you make the most of the equipment you have and make your stay at the campsite more comfortable?
If you want to cook over a bonfire using Belmont’s bonfire stand “TABI”, please give it a try. (This is a net made by another company, so try it at your own risk.)
