Folding the Tent Can Be Surprisingly Tricky
Folding a tent can be surprisingly tricky, especially if you’re not used to it.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to fold the EARTH TRIPPER SC tent from Whole Earth.
※ The same folding method applies to the EARTH TRIPPER 2.0 as well.
EARTH TRIPPER SC
The EARTH TRIPPER SC from Whole Earth is a solo camping tent designed for 1-2 people. This tent features the insect-repellent technology “SCORON®︎” jointly developed by Earth Chemical and Teijin Frontier, making it difficult for insects to approach and ensuring a comfortable camping experience. It offers a spacious vestibule and high breathability, is easy to set up, and can be used comfortably in all seasons. Its lightweight and compact design make it easy to carry.
The difference between the EARTH TRIPPER SC and the 2.0 version is whether it includes the “SCORON®︎” insect-repellent technology.
How to Fold the Inner Tent
1. Spread Out and Arrange the Tent
First, neatly spread out the inner tent. Make sure the mesh parts are properly aligned in the center to make the next steps easier.
To make it easier to fold in the next steps, ensure the red hooks are centered.
2. Fold Vertically Towards the Center
Fold vertically towards the center.
At this stage, align the entrance properly and place the red hooks in the center as a marker.
Fold the other side towards the center as well.
3. Fold in Half Vertically to Finish
Fold it in half vertically again.
This completes the folding of the inner tent for now.
Next, let’s fold the flysheet.
How to Fold the Flysheet
1. Spread Out the Flysheet
First, spread out the flysheet.
The official instructions suggest tucking in the back part.
However, this can be quite difficult.
If you’re doing it alone, it might not go as smoothly, so let’s keep it spread out.
Fold it with the idea that the boundary between the vestibule and the inner tent part will be in the center.
2. Fold Vertically Towards the Center
Fold each side vertically towards the center.
It’s a bit hard to see in the photo due to the perspective, but fold towards the center so the final shape is a rectangle (each corner should be a right angle).
3. Fold Vertically Towards the Center Again
Fold vertically towards the center again.
It’s starting to take shape.
4. Fold in Half Vertically
Fold it in half vertically from the center.
At this point, check to see if it’s larger than the case.
If it’s larger than the case, redo it.
Make sure it’s about three-quarters the length of the case.
5. Fold in Half Horizontally
Fold it in half horizontally.
Now the flysheet is folded.
Storing the Inner Tent and Flysheet in the Case
Finally, let’s store the inner tent and flysheet in the case.
1. Place the Flysheet on Top of the Inner Tent
Place the flysheet on top of the inner tent.
2. Roll and Secure with Compression Belt
Roll it up and secure it with a compression belt.
It fits perfectly in the case.
Just add the poles, pegs, and other necessary items, zip it up, and you’re done.
Conclusion
Folding a tent can be quite challenging if you’re not used to it. However, folding it properly is important to prevent damage to the fabric and to ensure it looks neat when you set it up next time.
Fold your tent neatly and take good care of it for long-lasting use.
