CRYDDERI CAFE is a small café housed in a 100-year-old traditional townhouse that has been lovingly renovated. Once you step inside this backstreet gem, you are enveloped by the warmth of wood and the gentle charm of handcrafted details.
Around midday, the aroma of the daily homemade meals fills the air, and in the afternoon, the scent of homemade sweets and coffee takes over. Time spent at CRYDDERI CAFE feels like stepping into a page of a storybook.
For those of you working hard every day, allow us to introduce a special relaxation space we found in Osaka’s Karahori.
CRYDDERI CAFE, founded in 2002, is a Nordic-style café located in a renovated townhouse in Osaka’s Karahori district. The compact space is filled with a Scandinavian-inspired interior, and the café also features a shop selling handmade crafts and a gallery showcasing local artwork. It’s a hidden gem where you can enjoy both delicious food and the visual charm of art and crafts.
CRYDDERI CAFE is located inside the SOU Complex, a collection of renovated townhouses.
It’s wonderful that a townhouse over 100 years old has been restored and repurposed in this way. There are very few places where you can still see traditional Japanese homes in such pristine condition.
SOU is a renovated townhouse complex built in 1913 and restored in 2002. Inside this historic townhouse, you’ll find CRYDDERI CAFE.
The interior of the café has been lovingly restored, preserving the warmth of its wooden structure, while adding a touch of modern charm.
As you step into the compact, 10-tsubo (approx. 33 square meters) space, it feels as if you’ve stumbled upon a tiny village in the forest, with a whimsical charm that makes your heart dance.
Additionally, there’s a gallery space and a shop selling handmade goods, offering not only meals but also visual delights.
At CRYDDERI CAFE, you can enjoy a different experience depending on the time of day. There’s a lunch menu (11:30 am–2:30 pm) and a café time menu (2:30 pm–7:00 pm), each offering delightful treats.
During lunch, you can choose between the “Daily Lunch Special” or “Daily Curry,” both of which are incredibly delicious. The variety ensures that you’ll always want to come back for more.

You can also add a daily cake to your set for an additional ¥440.
