Mount Fuji and Autumn Colors: The Ultimate Walking Route at Lake Kawaguchiko Fall Festival

From early to mid-November, the autumn foliage around Lake Kawaguchiko reaches its peak. During this time, the Lake Kawaguchiko Autumn Leaves Festival attracts many tourists. However, with beautiful fall colors visible in numerous locations, there’s a lesser-known walking route that offers an exceptional experience.

In this article, I’ll introduce you to a walking route that provides the most stunning views of both the autumn foliage and Mount Fuji.

The Best Walking Route for Breathtaking Views of Autumn Colors and Mount Fuji

After visiting Lake Kawaguchiko during the fall season multiple times, I’ve discovered that the most recommended walking route is along the lakeside, one street south of Momiji Kaido (Maple Corridor).

This route allows you to enjoy the autumn foliage, Mount Fuji, and Lake Kawaguchiko all at once.

Along this path, you can admire both golden ginkgo trees and deep red maples, all while taking in the views of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko.

One of the best features of this lakeside promenade is that it’s less crowded, allowing you to stroll at a leisurely pace. You can enjoy the calm waters of Lake Kawaguchiko and the colorful mountainsides in a tranquil atmosphere.

While Momiji Kaido is beautiful, it can be busy with traffic. If you prefer to appreciate the autumn colors and Mount Fuji in a quieter setting, this promenade is my secret recommended route that fulfills that desire.

You can fully enjoy the autumn leaves, Mount Fuji, and Lake Kawaguchiko while walking this promenade on your way to the Maple Corridor.
