When you visit Nagoya, don’t miss the night sightseeing. The Sakae area, located in the heart of Aichi Prefecture’s Nagoya City, one of Japan’s major cities, offers stylish and chic spots to enjoy the beautiful city nightscape.
Among them, my personal favorite and highly recommended places are Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER and Hisaya-odori Park.
Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER
Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER, formerly Nagoya TV Tower, ceased its function as a broadcast tower with the end of analog broadcasting in 2011 and now brightens Nagoya’s nightlife as a tourist tower.
MIRAI TOWER is illuminated daily from 30 minutes before sunset until 2 a.m., attracting many people to its light every night.
Hisaya-odori Park
Hisaya - odori Park is the park located in front of MIRAI TOWER. With water in the center and numerous shops, from cafes and izakayas to apparel stores, on both banks, it offers a vibrant atmosphere.
Chic and Stylish Night Scene
During the day, it’s an ordinary park scene, but at night, the combined effect of the shop lights, park illuminations, and MIRAI TOWER’s lighting transforms it into a completely different scene. The reflections of the lights on the water create a magical atmosphere.
The illuminated MIRAI TOWER reflected on the water creates a scene reminiscent of Paris, France.
The recommended time is around 7:00 am PM to 9:00 am PM. At this time, there are still plenty of people around, making it safe and enjoyable for families, couples, or solo visitors. The open terraces at the cafes on both banks are perfect for leisurely enjoying the magical night atmosphere.
Although there are quite a few people, the enchanting atmosphere creates a serene environment. It’s one of my favorite spots where you can relax in a pleasant ambiance.
Such a wonderful view, you could gaze at it forever.
Excellent Access from Nagoya Station! A Magical World Awaits Above Ground
From Nagoya Station, you can take the Higashiyama Subway Line to Sakae Station, and once you come above ground, you’ll find yourself at Hisaya-odori Park, making access incredibly convenient. There is also a huge underground shopping area called Sakaechika beneath the park, so you can visit for dinner and then enjoy the night view above ground.
Just for you, who have read this article, here’s a secret tip: when you come to Nagoya, have dinner at Sakaechika, then head above ground to enjoy the night view of Hisaya-odori Park. This combination is a sure bet. Highly recommended spots you won’t want to miss.
Whether you’re alone and seeking peace, with a partner for a romantic evening, or with family for a chic and stylish atmosphere, even busy parents can enjoy some adult time.
Who will you bring here? I hope you have a wonderful time.
