Sky Promenade is the outdoor observation deck of Midland Square, located right next to JR Nagoya Station.
The night view of the metropolis of Nagoya from the 46th floor, 220 meters above ground, is truly like a jewelry box! The observation deck with a unique “three-story atrium” has no ceiling, making it an outdoor observation deck as its name suggests. The dazzling night view through the massive glass windows spanning three floors makes you feel like you’re walking in the night sky.

For a more relaxed and sophisticated night view experience, Hisaya Odori Park and the shining MIRAI TOWER are recommended.
Hisaya Odori Park is just a few minutes’ ride on the Higashiyama Line subway from Nagoya Station. Get off at Sakae Station, and you’ll arrive as soon as you get above ground. The access is excellent.
The view of the illuminated park and MIRAI TOWER is reminiscent of Paris, France.
Although it’s a park, there are many commercial facilities such as restaurants and apparel stores, so it’s safe even at night.

Oasis 21 is a complex facility adjacent to Hisaya Odori Park that houses cafes, restaurants, and apparel stores. Here, you can find the giant “Water Spaceship” adorned with lights that color the night sky.
This giant Water Spaceship lights up with different concepts depending on the season, creating a beautiful night in Nagoya, Sakae. You can also go up to the roof of this Water Spaceship, and the night view from there is breathtaking.
Not only the Water Spaceship but the entire Oasis 21 area is illuminated, making it a perfect spot for night view strolling. However, if you visit, be sure to go up to the roof of the Water Spaceship. The world that spreads out there is incredibly fantastic, offering an unforgettable night view experience.
Meieki Street, located just outside the Hirokoji exit of JR Nagoya Station, is adorned with illuminations from late November to early January every year.
As the year-end approaches, with Christmas, New Year’s, and the increasing winter chill, doesn’t the illumination look even more beautiful in the cold air?
Just walking along is enough to lift your spirits. It’s beautiful, so if the timing is right, be sure to check it out.
Sakae Minami Osu Winter Illumination
This is also a winter-only event. From mid-November to late February each year, the street trees along Otsu Dori from Sakae to Osu are decorated with stunning illuminations. The lights are on from 5:00 pm to 12:00 pm.
The approximately 1km stretch of street trees is entirely adorned with illuminations, wrapping the entire city in a dress of light.
This spot is also very close to Hisaya Odori Park and Oasis 21, so I’ll include a map. If the timing is right, extend your visit here as well.
