Full of Ghibli feeling! A fantastic world surrounded by trees
The charm of Tsubakisou Auto Campsite is definitely the atmosphere of the campsite. The campsite was built by reclaiming the mountain, and the nature remains intact.
Because it is surrounded by a deep forest, the sunlight filtering through the trees gives it the feel of a secret hideout.
The size of the plots varies, making it possible to accommodate large groups camping together, such as multiple families. We have space suitable for groups and solo camping, and can accommodate a wide range of people.
This site in the forest is classified as a primary site. As you can see from the map of the first site below, there are a large number of plots and a wide variety of plot sizes.
It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to walk around the area of the first site at a leisurely pace.
Excellent sense of freedom! A second site perfect for stargazing
There is another second site at Tsubakisou Auto Campground.
It is characterized by one vast open plaza, giving it an outstanding sense of openness.
Since it is not surrounded by trees like the first site, the starry sky can be seen more beautifully.
Reception location
At Tsubakisou Auto Campground, the reception desk and the actual campsite are far apart. Reception will be held at Tsubakisou (hotel), so it will be easier to move if you register before going to the campsite.
Tsubakisou, where the reception is located, is located just across the Tsubaki Ohashi Bridge from National Route 413 (Doshimichi, 道志みち).
The campsite, on the other hand, is located further back from here.
Additionally, firewood and drinks are available for sale at Tsubaki-so, where reception will be held. There are no shops at the campsite.
Firewood sales
Coniferous: 500 yen
Hardwood: 700 yen
There are no convenience stores or supermarkets around Tsubakisou Auto Campsite. The closest one is a 30 minute drive away.
Purchase food and other ingredients in advance before heading to the campsite.
As for the price, on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the bath costs 1,100 yen for 3 hours, but if you get a discount ticket at the reception at Tsubakisou Auto Campsite, you can bathe for 600 yen for 1 hour.
There are usually no plans shorter than 3 hours, so the 600 yen discount ticket for 1 hour can be said to be a special plan for people camping at Tsubakisou Auto Campsite.
Since our main purpose is camping, this is a great deal considering we won’t be staying at this facility for more than 3 hours.
Please note that the 1 hour time limit is only for bathing. Once you receive the key to the changing room locker at the reception desk, you can return the locker key to the reception desk within an hour.
In other words, after returning the locker key, you can relax inside the facility. You can rest at the rest area, get a massage, and buy souvenirs. You can enjoy it without any time limit.
By the way, it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to walk from Tsubakisou Auto Campsite to Benitsubaki-no-Yu. However, on the way back you will have to walk up a steep slope, so we recommend accessing by car.
It’s cool even in summer. The perfect campsite for a summer getaway
Even in July, the morning temperature is a cool 18 degrees Celsius, and the days are pleasant.
You can see a variety of scenery throughout the year, such as fresh greenery in the summer, autumn leaves in the fall, and snowy scenery in the winter.
Additionally, due to snowfall in winter, many campgrounds are closed during the winter, but Tsubakisou Auto Campground is one of the few long-established campgrounds that is open throughout the year-end and New Year holidays.
Doshi Village has many campgrounds, and it is considered one of the sacred places for camping in Japan.
In such a competitive campsite area, Tsubakisou Auto Campsite is a campsite that has been loved by campers for a long time.
Please come and be healed by nature and the starry sky.
