  • Basic garbage can be collected. I’m glad I don’t have to take it home. *Good cleaning. The kitchen and toilet are always clean!
  • There is also a hot spring. (Since the baths are in guesthouses on the same premises, men and women alternate depending on the time of day. Reservations are required during the day and are available in hourly increments.)

About bonfires

This campsite allows you to light a fire directly on the ground, even if you do not have a fire pit.

If you build a bonfire directly on the ground, do not sprinkle water on it. Leave the ashes in one place where you started the bonfire. The manager will clean up after you check out.

Garbage collection and separation rules

Please take combustible garbage, cans, bottles, and plastic bottles to the garbage collection area within the campsite.

Please separate combustible garbage, cans, bottles, and plastic bottles and place them in separate garbage bags. Japan is a country with a very strong awareness of environmental conservation.

Non-burnable garbage will not be collected, so please take it home with you.

Akiyama River status

The Akiyama River is right in front of the campsite, so the scenery is very nice. Although it is called a river, it does not have much current and is wide, so it looks like a lake.

Boats are available for rent at Lake Sagami, and you can also enjoy fishing and walking on the lake. This campsite is also recommended for people who like fishing. On weekends, it is crowded with day-trip fishing tourists.

Route and food procurement from the nearest station to Akiyamagawa Campsite

The nearest station to Akiyamagawa Campsite is JR Chuo Main Line Fujino Station.

JR Chuo Main Line Fujino Station

There is a supermarket “Matsuba” near the Akiyamagawa campsite. It is located on the road from Fujisawa Station to the campsite, so you can visit it efficiently on foot.

The route from Fujino Station to the supermarket

It takes about 10 minutes to walk from Fujino Station to Matsuba.

Road from Fujino Station to Matsuba

Please be careful as there are some places where there are no sidewalks. You will have to walk along the road and the road is narrow, so please refrain from walking in large groups. There are also many cars passing by. (The safest way is to take a taxi.)

There is a bridge in front of the supermarket, and you can see the Sagami River.

It’s majestic and very beautiful!

After you cross the bridge, you will see his Matsuba on your left.

The path I’m walking on is on his second floor in Matsuba.

This is his second floor entrance.

The actual store is on his first floor. The second floor is a parking lot. From the second floor, go down the stairs and head to the store on the first floor.

When you go down the stairs, there is a large sales floor.

It’s a small local supermarket, but it has everything you need. This supermarket has everything from meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, and seasonings to alcohol and drinks, so you won’t have any trouble procuring ingredients.

Map and route from Matsuba to Akiyamagawa Campsite

The first thing you will see is a convenience store called LAWSON. LAWSON is close as it can be seen from Matsuba.
LAWSON Fujino store

The area around Lake Sagami is a famous route for road bikes. LAWSON also has a bicycle storage area.

It is uphill from Matsuba to LAWSON and downhill from there.

The road branches before LAWSON, so turn right there. You can get there in 10 minutes on foot.

After crossing the bridge and walking for a few minutes, you will find the entrance to Akiyamagawa Campsite on your left.

We arrived at Akiyamagawa Campsite.

When walking, pay attention to the route on the navigation app

If you search for the walking route from Fujino Station to Akiyamagawa Campsite on Google Maps, the route introduced here will not come up. The following routes are suggested.

This is because the shortest route I introduced does not have a sidewalk.

The shortest route presented in this article is not a recommendation. Choose the safest route possible. We will not be held responsible for any accidents, so please do so at your own risk.

Matsubaya LAWSON is also close by walking from the campsite. We also recommend leaving your heavy luggage at the campsite before heading out to get food.

It was very efficient to be able to procure ingredients on the way to the campsite, but it was very painful to carry all my luggage, ingredients, drinks, and ice.

About temperature

I would like to introduce the temperature at Akiyamagawa Campsite in late October.

The maximum temperature at Akiyamagawa Campsite is 16-18 degrees Celsius.

Around 4:00 pm, the sun disappears behind the mountains and your site is in the shade, and it suddenly gets cooler.

It gets pretty cold after 7:00 pm.

If it’s hot, you can take off your clothes, but if it’s cold and you don’t have something to wear, there’s nothing you can do. When camping, it’s best to always think about what might happen when preparing your equipment.

A campsite that is well-maintained and has very warm people.

The campsite, kitchen, and toilets were all surprisingly clean.

The manager is kind and communicates well with me, so I feel like I’ve come back to my hometown.

In fact, this campsite is not well known, so it is easy to make reservations. However, the facilities and equipment are good, and the location is good, so it is a hidden campsite.

The great thing about it is that it can be accessed on foot, and there is a supermarket near the campsite where you can get all your ingredients.

Please come and visit Akiyamagawa Campsite, a hidden campsite in Kanagawa that I don’t really want to tell you about.
