Every Day is a Meat Festival! Steaks, Hamburg Steaks, Bone-in Cuts - You Name It!
While Buff offers a wine bar-style menu, their true pride lies in their meat dishes. From steaks and hamburg steaks to grilled meats, sausages, lamb chops, and ribs - here you can enjoy delicious meat dishes and drinks any time.
Must Try! The Surprising Gap Between Appearance and Taste: Charcoal Black Hamburg
Among Buff’s daily meat feast offerings, my top recommendation is the “Charcoal Black Hamburg”. The visual impact is incredible!
Yes, it’s completely black. This unique appearance comes from cooking 100% hand-ground beef patties over charcoal. The first sight will definitely surprise you. But contrary to its appearance, the taste is that of a proper hamburg steak. You might think “Will it taste bitter because it’s black?”, but not at all - instead, it has just the right smokiness and, of course, maintains its delicious meaty flavor.
It pairs perfectly with red wine, making it a must-order dish when visiting Buff.

For Wine Pairing, Don’t Miss the “Beef Tongue Stew”
When thinking of meat dishes, people often gravitate toward steaks, hamburg steaks, or sausages, but for wine pairing, I highly recommend trying the “Petite Beef Tongue Stew”.
The beef tongue, stewed with carrots and onions, melts in your mouth. It pairs excellently with wine, creating that perfect food and wine marriage happiness. Plus, as the “petite” in the name suggests, the portion size isn’t too large, making it perfect for those who want meat but not too much. It’s a complete dish that can be enjoyed with vegetables.

Even the Potato Dishes Shine! A Restaurant That Masters the Basics Never Disappoints
Potato salad and french fries are dishes you tend to order automatically, right? Whether it’s Japanese or Western cuisine, potato dishes are always present, and I consider these two the world’s premier potato dishes. (Personal opinion)
At Buff, these dishes are also excellently prepared and delicious!
The potato salad is enhanced with bacon and black pepper, and it also pairs wonderfully with wine.
Charcoal-Grilled Bacon Loaded Potato Salad ¥580
It looks elegant too, doesn’t it? Starting your meal with this dish is sure to lift your spirits.
And the french fries demonstrate the quality you’d expect from a meat bar.
Overflowing French Fries ¥380
As the name suggests, they truly overflow the plate. It’s an absolute mountain of fries. Potato lovers won’t be able to resist. When ordering meat dishes like steaks or hamburg steaks, adding these fries as a side dish enhances the meat’s deliciousness even more.
The reasonable price is another plus. Enjoy the crispy-outside, fluffy-inside texture of freshly fried potatoes.
Incredible Price Point! All-You-Can-Drink Wine
One of Buff’s standout features is their all-you-can-drink wine service, priced at an astonishing ¥1,500. Yes, it’s remarkably affordable. Even better, it’s available for solo diners - a truly generous offering.
You can choose from red wine, white wine, and sparkling wine. Wines marked with ‘G’ on the menu are served by the glass, while unmarked wines come by the bottle.
For example, their heaviest red wine, “Château Civrac”, would cost much more than ¥1,500 if purchased by the bottle at a wine shop. It would likely be priced between ¥2,000 and ¥4,000. From this perspective, the all-you-can-drink service is incredibly value for money. We must appreciate Buff’s business approach.
It’s unusual to see an all-you-can-drink service based on bottles. Nobody wants to drink wine that’s been open too long, so this style is particularly appealing. It’s also beneficial for the restaurant as it prevents partially consumed bottles from going to waste - a win-win situation.
Of course, if you order it, you should plan to finish it - that’s something to keep in mind.
But with food this delicious, there’s no need to worry about wine consumption. In fact, while enjoying the perfect food and wine pairing, I quickly finished the Château Civrac. When the food is delicious, the wine naturally flows.
Wine Prices Are Reasonable! Glass Wines from ¥390
Even without opting for the all-you-can-drink service, you can enjoy wine at relatively affordable prices.
The “Full Glass Wine” is just ¥390, a delightfully reasonable price. They fill beautiful wine glasses to the brim.
The Comfort of a Casual Dining Space That Suits Any Occasion
The interior features wood-toned walls and flooring, creating an overall warm atmosphere. Tables and counter seats are well-balanced, making it suitable for various occasions from casual gatherings with friends to romantic dates. The counter seating is also a welcome feature as it makes solo diners feel comfortable.
4 Locations in Osaka! Buff is Expanding
While we visited the Fukushima location, Buff currently operates 4 establishments in Osaka Prefecture. In Osaka City, they seem to focus mainly around the Kita area.
How wonderful it would be to have an all-star meat bar like this nearby. I’d want to visit every week.
