We introduce the campsites at fumotoppara Campground, as well as the facilities within the campground such as the store, restaurants, large public bath, and more.
The Charms of fumotoppara
Mount Fuji Standing Majestically
The biggest appeal of fumotoppara Campground is being able to camp while gazing at this fantastical view of Mount Fuji.
fumotoppara divides the campsites into 12 areas from A to L. Each one is very spacious, so unless you go during New Year’s, you can secure quite a large private area.
Wooded Sites Available Too
fumotoppara also has wooded sites (H Site) where you can pitch your tent in the woods.
H Site
Management Building
The management building at fumotoppara is right next to the fee station and serves as a store.
It has a pretty wide selection including light meals, seasonings, consumables, fumotoppara goods, and more.

They have local chicken too.
Staff are always present at the management building, so if you have any questions or troubles, you can go there and they’ll help you out.
Cowshed Restroom & Store
The cowshed is an iconic presence at fumotoppara. There are restrooms to the right of this cowshed, but the cowshed itself serves as a store with many things for sale.
They sell locally harvested vegetables.
They have a wide selection of alcohol too.
They had milk, cola and other drinks.
Ready to grill! Fuji chicken skewers are available for purchase.
Wild game meat can be purchased here too.
Here they sell consumables and daily necessities.
Lots of fumotoppara original goods were on sale.
Encounter Ramen from All Over Japan Behind the Cowshed
Behind the cowshed is a large hut with tables where you can eat meals. There’s a water station too so you can do your dishes.
There’s a vending machine selling ramen from all over Japan. All priced at 300 yen.
Large Public Bath
fumotoppara has a large public bath where you can take a bath.
※ Depending on the season and circumstances, it may not always be open, so make sure to check before you go.
Inside it’s like a public bathhouse, with a large bathtub and showers lining the walls.
The changing room isn’t that big, so if you go in the evening you’ll end up waiting in line outside the entrance.
The large public bath is located next to the car check-in area (fee station).
Kanayama Kitchen
There are places to eat at fumotoppara, and Kanayama Kitchen is one of them.
The spacious and nice interior.
The menu had both food and drinks, but apparently it changes by season, so check it out when you go for a fun surprise.
It has the kind of stylish menu you’d expect at a cafe bar.
Kanayama Terrace
Right next to Kanayama Kitchen is the huge and surprising food court “Kanayama Terrace”.
Since it’s a food court you can eat and drink there, and they sell things there too.
If Kanayama Kitchen is a cafe bar, Kanayama Terrace is a cafeteria.
They sold leather goods too.

If the weather is clear, you can frame Mount Fuji inside this ring.
Behind the restroom in the central grassland, there is a stream and a pond.
Night at fumotoppara Campground
At night, the lights create a very magical scenery.
When it’s foggy, visibility is poor.
fumotoppara, the Holy Ground for Campers
fumotoppara is a place every camper wants to visit at least once.
The vast grounds and magnificent Mount Fuji make it extremely attractive.
The weather can be rough at times, but even that makes it the best camping trip for me every time.
It was also a setting in the anime “Laid-Back Camp”, making it a holy site in that sense too, but it has had the appeal to be called a holy ground since way before that.
Go and experience this open feeling for yourself.
