Soaring high above the traditional neighborhood of Sumida, Tokyo Skytree proudly stands as Japan’s tallest tower at 634 meters. It’s an unmissable landmark for any visit to Tokyo.
With its sleek silhouette reaching skyward, the tower is breathtaking from any angle. But don’t just admire it from the ground—going up reveals an awe-inspiring experience far beyond expectations.
Ready to ascend into the Tokyo sky? Let’s go!
The entrance to Tokyo Skytree is located on the 4th floor of the Solamachi complex.
If you’re heading to the Skytree observation decks, we highly recommend purchasing your tickets in advance. This way, you can avoid the long lines for same-day tickets.
The line in the photo is for same-day tickets, which are available from the blue machines numbered 9 to 12.
In contrast, advance ticket holders can use the red machines numbered 5 to 8 at the front of the photo, where there was no line at all during our visit.
You can breeze through and get your ticket without waiting.
Even better, consider the Skytree Enjoy Pack, which includes entry to other attractions at a discount—it’s a great deal!

Once you’ve secured your ticket, it’s time to head up to the observation deck.
Access is via elevator, and there might be a short wait here too.
The hallway leading to the elevators features a beautiful ceiling design.
Inside, the elevators are elegant and refined, fitting for a tower that represents Japan to the world. International visitors will be impressed by the stylish interior.
There are four elevators, each designed around one of Japan’s four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
We’ve arrived at the observation deck!
The observation deck is located 350 meters above ground.
The view is absolutely spectacular.
Tokyo sprawls below like a miniature model.
Seeing it with your own eyes is at least 100 times more impressive than photos can convey. The vast panoramic view is truly overwhelming.
Let’s go even higher—to the Tembo Galleria, 100 meters above the observation deck.
The elevator to the Galleria has a partially glass ceiling, letting you watch as you ascend.
We’ve arrived at the Tembo Galleria.
The Tembo Galleria features a gentle slope that takes you gradually higher as you walk.
Being 100 meters higher than the observation deck, the view makes the city seem even smaller.
There’s a section of the observation deck with a glass floor. You can see all the way down to the ground—it’s a spine-tingling experience, so don’t miss it!
On the observation deck, you’ll also find the SKYTREE CAFE.
Sipping tea while taking in the incredible view—what could be better?
The elevator going down is different from the one going up, and it also has a stunning interior.
With intricate Edo Kiriko glasswork and beautiful lighting effects, the descent is an experience in itself.
After taking in the spectacular views, don’t forget to enjoy the ride down too.
Beyond its height, Tokyo Skytree is filled with elements that reflect Japanese culture, making it a joy to explore.
Whether you’re visiting solo, as a couple, or with family—
You’ll have an unforgettable time. Don’t miss it!
