Osaka Takoyaki

Osaka's famous takoyaki has its roots in "Radio-yaki", which was invented by Aizuya in 1933. After World War II, toppings such as sauce, green seaweed, and shaved bonito flakes were added, and it took on its current form. Kona-mon (konamon), which can be easily eaten at food stalls or in front of stores, is a popular soul food for Osaka people. In recent years, Akashiyaki-style takoyaki that is dipped in soup stock and takoyaki that use unusual ingredients have also become popular. In recent years, services for foreign tourists have expanded, such as restaurants offering English menus and takoyaki walking tours. Osaka's takoyaki culture is an evolving soul food that continues to change while preserving tradition.
