Wondering How to Get Around Shodoshima? No Car? No Problem!
When visiting Shodoshima for sightseeing, one of the first challenges many travelers face is: “How do I get around the island?”
“Should I rent a car?”
“Is it okay if I don’t have a driver’s license?”
“Can I really visit all the major tourist spots just by bus?”
If these are your concerns, we’ve got good news. On Shodoshima, the Olive Bus local route network covers nearly all tourist attractions, meaning you can enjoy a full island adventure even without a car.
Angel Road, Kankakei Gorge, Shodoshima Olive Park, and the Twenty-Four Eyes Movie Village—these iconic destinations are all accessible by Olive Bus. Plus, with a 1-day pass, you can hop on and off as you like without paying each time. It’s surprisingly cost-effective.
This article provides a detailed overview of all Olive Bus routes, including maps, schedules, fares, and nearby attractions. If you’re uneasy about driving or want to take in the scenery at a relaxed pace, read on!

Kudari (outbound) refers to buses departing from Tonosho Port.
East/West Loop indicates clockwise or counterclockwise directions.
North/South Route indicates whether the bus travels along the island’s north or south side.
