Noborito Station
Noborito Station is a station located in Noborito, Tama Ward, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is served by two lines: the Odakyu Line and the JR Nambu Line. It can be accessed in about 20 minutes from Shinjuku Station and about 10 minutes from Kawasaki Station.
There are shops in front of the station and residential areas around it. The Tama River flows just to the north, and although it is a city, it is also a city rich in nature.
Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, where Noborito Station is located, is where manga artist Fujiko F. Fujio, creator of the anime Doraemon, lived before his death, and has ties to Noborito Station (his birthplace is Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture). Therefore, you can see decorations that pay homage to Doraemon everywhere at Noborito Station.
The main sightseeing spots around Noborito Station are the Fujiko F. Fujio Museum and Inada Tamagawa Park.
In front of the station
The station is relatively large, as there are two train lines running through it.
There are shops in front of the station, mainly restaurants.
There is also a bus stop at the rotary in front of the station to take the bus to the Fujiko F. Fujio Museum.
Inada Tamagawa Park
Inada Tamagawa Park is a city park located just outside Noborito Station on the north side. This park is located on the riverbed along the Tama River, with a spacious lawn and a promenade where you can enjoy the scenery of the Tama River.
The riverbed is a place of relaxation for local residents, with people enjoying lunch and running.
The Tama River is a large river, so you can feel the rich nature from the magnificent scenery.
Some people are fishing.
There is a large bridge called Tama Suidobashi nearby.
You can also go under this bridge.
There isn’t much shade on the riverbed, so the shade under the bridge is nice and allows the wind to escape.
Noborito no Watashi
“Noborito no Watashi” is a ferry that connected Kawasaki and Komae during the Edo period. They operated ferry boats to cross the Tama River. It was used by many people until the Tama Suidobashi Bridge was completed in 1953.
Although the ferry is no longer in operation, there are exhibits of the ferry that retain the vestiges of those days, as well as panels introducing the history of the ferry.
