Trail towards Masugatayama Square
From the East Exit Visitor Center to Masugatayama Square, walk along the trail.
It’s a 450m, 6 minute journey.
It’s uphill. It is basically a paved road and there are no stairs. You can get to the square even with a stroller, but please be careful as some of the roads are unpaved and there are steps.
Masugatayama Square
We have arrived at Masugatayama Square.
At Masugatayama Square, you can often see many families spreading out their leisure sheets and having picnics.
There is also play equipment in the Square, so it is a Square that children can also enjoy.
The Square is fairly large, so it doesn’t get crowded except during the cherry blossom viewing season.
It feels really nice to have lunch here on a sunny day in spring or autumn.
Masugatayama Observation Deck
There is also an observation deck in the Square.
You can go up by stairs or elevator.
The view from the observation deck is truly spectacular.
You can also see Tokyo Skytree. do you understand? The Sky Tree is a little to the left of the center of the photo.
The greenery below and the sky above. There are not many places in Kanagawa Prefecture that are so open.
If you look down on the Square from the observation deck, you can get a good overview of the whole thing.
Iimuroyama Square
There is also Masugatayama Square and another, Iimuroyama Square, which are connected by a trail.
There is no place in Iimuroyama Square where you can spread out your leisure sheet and have a picnic, but the trail is full of rich nature and is a great place to take a walk.
There is also an observation deck at Iimuroyama Square, where you can enjoy a wonderful view.
Chojaana guchi (Chojaana entrance)
Separate from the East Exit Visitor Center, there is an entrance called “Chojaana guchi”. “guchi” means “entrance”. This is the route up the stairs that leads to Iimuroyama Square.
It’s difficult to get there with strollers or small children, but if you’re just an adult, we recommend heading to Masugatayama Square via this route. You’ll be walking through rich nature, so you’ll feel like you’re climbing a mountain.
If you need small picnic supplies, you can find them in front of the station.
Mukogaoka Yuen Station, the nearest station to Ikuta Ryokuchi Park, is crowded with many shops.
There is a supermarket called “LIFE” in front of the station, and he has a 100 yen shop called “Seria” there, which also sells small picnic items such as cutlery.
A place where you can forget the hustle and bustle of the city and relax
Masugatayama Square in Ikuta Ryokuchi Park is a Square located at the top of Mt. Masugata, which is 84 meters above sea level. In spring, about 600 cherry trees bloom, and the area is crowded with cherry blossom viewing visitors. From the observation deck, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of central Tokyo and the Tama River.
Masugatayama Square is a popular spot in Ikuta Ryokuchi Park where you can enjoy nature and history. It’s easy to get to, with convenient transportation and a parking lot, so please come and visit us.
